Pricing & Discount Strategies
Guildara supports many common pricing strategies through Discount Codes and Pricing Rules. Some strategies require a few manual steps, but they're easy to manage once set up.
Early Bird Pricing
Encourage families to register sooner by offering a discount for a limited time. Early Bird pricing helps you secure registrations earlier and better predict attendance.
How to do it in Guildara
- Create a discount code with a recognizable name, such as EARLYBIRD, SUMMER10, or EARLY2027.
- Share the code (or an automatically applied discount link) through your email, social media, and website.
- Set yourself a calendar reminder for the day your promotion should end.
- When the promotion ends, deactivate the discount code.
If you prefer not to use a discount code, you can also update the schedule price on the designated date.
Reward Returning Families
Encourage families to come back each season by offering them an exclusive discount.
How to do it in Guildara
- Go to Orders.
- Filter the list to show families who participated in last season's program.
- Create a new discount code.
- Restrict the code to those customers only.
- Email the code to eligible families before registration opens, and clearly communicate when registration begins.

Keep in mind: Eligible customers can use the discount every time they register while the code is active. If you intend the reward to be temporary, remember to deactivate the discount code when your promotion ends. To make sure the discount is being used as intended, go to Discount Codes and click the number of redemptions next to the code. You'll see every order where the discount was applied, making it easy to verify that only eligible families are using it.
Sibling Discounts
Encourage families to enroll more than one child by offering a discounted price for additional siblings.
How to do it in Guildara
- Add a Registration Question asking whether the participant has a sibling registered for the same activity. Set it up as a Single Choice question.
- Create a Pricing Rule that reduces the price when the family selects Yes.
- Clearly explain the discount during checkout on the activity description or the question description so families know they're receiving the reduced price.
Tip: Keep the question simple and explain the benefit. For example:

This is how the experience would be for families:

Keep in mind: Pricing Rules apply automatically during checkout, so families don't need to enter a discount code. The system works on trust, but you can verify responses by checking your roster to confirm that families who selected Yes have multiple participants registered. If needed, you can outline a policy for handling incorrect responses.
