At Guildara, we believe every kid should have access to quality extracurricular activities. Thanks to our collaboration with The Village Project, we can help providers like you offer scholarships to families in need—without the complexity of managing your own nonprofit.

Where do scholarship funds come from?

Scholarship funds come from three main sources:

General Funds

These are donations raised by The Village Project through individuals, companies, and public grants. They help cover scholarships for any eligible activity on the platform.

Private Funds

These are donations made directly to your organization through The Village Project—sometimes by families, community members, or local businesses who believe in your mission.

Whether anonymous or not, these donations are reserved just for your families and your eligible activities* and can be customized (if the donor allows it) to prioritize programs with higher demand. You can actively promote donations by sharing your unique donation link.

Provider Funds

This is where you come in. Your organization can raise funds through your own efforts—like a bake sale, silent auction, tournament, or local fundraiser—and place them in a dedicated “bucket” within The Village Project.

It works like having your own nonprofit fund (without the paperwork). These funds:

  • Are reserved only for your families and your approved activities*.
  • Can be customized using labels to allocate them to specific programs (e.g. basketball, hockey, or soccer if you're a sports facility—or ballet classes if you're a dance studio).
  • May allow for a higher monthly cap of scholarships you can offer.

*Scholarships apply only to registrations for participants under 18 who demonstrate financial need, in activities approved for scholarships under Guildara's Promotion Policy.

Want to start your own dedicated scholarship fund?

It’s easier than you think. Start by sharing your donation link with your community:

  • Create a QR code for your front desk
  • Add it to your website
  • Share it on social media
  • Include it in your email communications

You can even make a donation yourself — a small one-time contribution via credit card, US bank account, or check — to see how the system works.

Many providers go a step further by organizing simple, community-driven fundraisers, such as:

  • Family movie nights or trivia nights
  • Give-back events with local businesses
  • “Pay-it-forward” contributions during checkout

Once funds are collected, you can upload them to your own dedicated scholarship fund and start supporting more families.

Just look at what Valley Sports Academy accomplished:

They hosted this fun activity with one goal: to raise scholarship funds through The Village Project. The response was incredible—they received dozens of registrations and raised $1,219, enough to fund 14 scholarships for kids to attend their camps, clinics, lessons, and teams. Your programs can have this kind of impact, too!

Transparency you can count on

  • 100% of donations go directly to support activity registrations—no overhead costs.*
  • Inside your dashboard, through the Donations tab, you can:
    • Track available scholarship funds
    • See how many registrations each donation supported
    • Edit the conditions that determine how each donation is used
  • You can also access a Scholarship Report at any time to track:
    • The number of scholarship applications your activity received
    • How many were approved and actually used
    • Total registrations funded by scholarships
    • Number of participants who were sponsored
    • The impact of scholarships on your business revenue. Because the only way this system thrives is if everyone wins!

*Every penny of your donation funds kids’ attendance to activities, with no deductions for salaries or operational costs — with the exception of a minimal payment processing fee. This fee is 3-4% for card payments or 0.8% (up to a maximum of $5) for ACH payments. See it for yourself here.

Join the mission
